The bold and beautiful came out to play on Melbourne Cup day! This is one of my favourite days in Victoria as I love how everyone gets dressed up in colourful style and heads along for a good time. The atmosphere is always festive, fun and friendly. In racing news, Almandin secured a narrow victory, awarding owner Lloyd Williams a record fifth win in the $6.2 million dollar race. Almost 100,000 people where at Flemington Racecourse for the race that stops the nation, I was on the scene to capture all the fabulous action, let’s take a look…

It was glamorous! The media were invited to attend the official unveiling of Flemington’s lavish Birdcage Enclosure today. This iconic precinct is the playground of celebrities and society high-flyers during the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Invitations are always the hottest tickets in town.

Rachel Griffiths & Rachael Finch looking glamorous!
The stars were out to play at the Melbourne Cup Carnival 2016 launch yesterday! The fabulous event was also the unveiling of Flemington’s new entertainment precinct The Park.
Looking beautiful both Rachel Griffiths and Rachael Finch held the glorious Melbourne Cup as attendees arrived. The event continued with a stage presentation, speeches and a fashion showcase of the latest fashion trends.

This new fashionable precinct was remarkable with so much to offer in its lovely grassy field of flirty entertainment. I was super impressed with the design and offerings at The Park, it lifts the Melbourne Cup Carnival to a new stylish level.

Highlights on offer included; James Boag’s Premium Bar, Lavazza coffee, L’Oréal Paris Powder Room, Cocktail Caravan Park by Pernod Ricard, Schweppes mixologists, TAB “We Love A Bet” karaoke, Yellowglen Terrace, Primo Deli, and tasty treats from some of Melbourne’s hottest restaurants and culinary destinations including Hanoi Hannah and Saigon Sally, Huxtaburger, Gelato Messina, Biggie Smalls, Doughnut Time and Knafeh.

The New York Fashion Week show that blew my socks off! Dynamic fashion label Xuly.Bët showcased an innovative approach towards vibrant street styled clothing.
The prints were African inspired with bold, colourful and adventurous prints rocking the runway. Oversized jackets, relaxed style dresses and edgy pant suits were the stand outs. I was excited to have a front row seat to snap the action and take in the vibe. The models rocked the lab style sunglasses that featured eye-catching images. I’m so getting myself a pair.

I had the fabulous pleasure of attending Leanne Marshall’s runway show at New York Fashion Week!
Project Runway fans will recognise Marshall as the winner of Season 5 in 2008. She has been a regular show caser at New York Fashion Week ever since her win. Her Spring/Summer 2017 collection was showcased on a very balmy summer day in the Big Apple. As the lights dimmed in the industrial style room, the models started to glide down the runway in beautiful feminine and sophisticated style. Marshall’s collection featured long flowing gowns and sheer cocktail dresses with added frills for that extra bit of fun. The colour choices were exquisite, adding a lavish touch in the hues of lavender, apricot and blue. She balanced the looks with a casual and comfortable appeal of nude coloured sandals.
Let’s take a look at some of my favourite designs…

I had the time of my life! Just back from New York Fashion Week and I was super impressed. It was my first time in the USA and I found New York to be bigger, brighter and more full of life than I ever imagined. The humidity was a battle each day but it worked wonders for my complexion. I stayed on after NYFW and managed to take in the sights of this vibrant city that has so much to offer. I’ll be posting more about my trip once I get unpacked, but here are a couple of highlights.
